just wondering...

ok, here are my questions for the day:

why does what tom cruise says about katie holmes get registered as news? what about that seems right?

why in the world is jay leno testifying for michael jackson? what about that seems like a good idea?

why do parents put their kids in the trunk of a car to go visit auntie so-and-so? dr. spock would definately not recommend that, would he?

why does coffee make me awake and focused if i drink it before 10am, but jittery and freaked out if i drink it after 3pm?

why can i remember what i had on during pivotal occasions/conversations in my life but have to call the bank to check my balance?

last one:

why, even though i make mine the exact same way, does my grandmother's tuna fish salad taste better than mine?

go ahead, leave a comment, i dare you.

i'll be back later, maybe even with some answers...

Tom Cruise makes news because he is "famous" and in our wacky world what Tom and his kind say, do or think is consider of more importance than those in our government. Not sure if it is the money these "famous" people command or if it is their youth, beauty or just simply that they lead a life that apparently the masses envy.

Jay Leno is not necessarily testifying FOR MJ. He is testifying against the crazy family that brought the charges--too bad for all the children of the world that this case got this far---we all know there is something weird about MJ and that he more than likely is a pedofile--but the letter of the law has to be followed and trumped up charges should not convict even a guilty individual.

Not that I condone the mother's behavior or choice of where to put her children while in transit to grandma's, but perhaps they were fighting as 2 other children I knew and it was the trunk for them or the mom being convicted of physical abuse---hummm wonder if that will be the charge anyway.

Other than some misfortune which would cause you to write a check for which you were unsure you had the money; I can't think of any reason why someone would NEED to know on a daily basis what the balance was of a bank account. Just as you associate clothing with memorable events, your bank balance would be associated with the same. You obviously cannot recall what you have worn every day for the past 2 weeks; so why should you be able to recall your bank balance?

The tuna tastes different because you are not your grandmother. It is the same with all foods. You cannot duplicate what one cook does. You may get close, follow the receipe etc, but it will be different. Just litle nuiances, but different. I rather think it is the "passion" which goes into the cooking or preparing of the dish---like in "Like Water for Chocolate".

Do any of these answers make sense, no, but then there is nothing in the world that says they have too. Some things in life we just have to accept.

I can accept that Jay Leno/MJ thing because that is the way the law works. I can accept the bank balance and the Tuna for reasons I gave. I cannot accept the TC and the kids in the trunk---these are the things for which there are no good or resonable explanations.

Life is full of questions that will go unanswered. Like, why do I iron shirts because the minute I sit down, the back gets all wrinkled. Or how about, why is it the moment you think you are in the clear with something you have either said or done, you get caught? As for Michael Jackson and anything/anyone that has to do with him, that is a big fat what the F. no matter how you try to figure it out. And Grandmothers' cooking always taste better, maybe because they are preparing it and all you have to do is eat.

What mystifies me about it is that it makes the news over here. If Martians came and judged geography based on UK media, they'd assume that America is about where Ireland is (Bryson, 1995).

In answer to your questions:

1) Katie Holmes is very pretty, except in Go where she's only pretty when she's dead.

2) I am a little bemused by who Jay Leno is, but he can do what he likes

3) Do you mean the same by trunk as we do? As in the boot? Please tell me this is a cultural misunderstanding. People put their kids in the boot?

4) Deep psychological problems on your part. There's no biological evidence that coffee makes you more awake in the mornings.

5) Nobody can tell you what you had on then, but your bank balance is always available

6) Your grandmother has magic fingers.

I notice you didn't help me out when I reeled off a list of questions, but I'm charitable like that.
